WHAZ
1330AM (our flagship station) has
been on the air for 87 years! One
of the nations oldest radio stations
and one of a handful still using
its original call letters from 1922,
WHAZ. In an article
which appeared in the newsletter
of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
(RPI), the original engineers of
WHAZ, it was signed on the air in
the summer of 1922 and RPI operated
it as its college station, until
WHAZ was sold in the sixties. From
then until the present, WHAZ has
been broadcasting the life changing
message of Jesus Christ.
With the addition of four FM radio
stations and simulcasting the same
programming of WHAZ upon these stations,
The Alive Radio Network
was born. Now brodcasting throughout
the greater Capital Region to over
240 square miles of New York, Vermont
and Massachusetts. Truly,
Alive Radio has become
a regionally listened to network.
